social. art. work.
While I’ve always been driven to create in one medium or another, my day-to-day journey for more than 20 years has been through the realm of teenagers without parents or homes through an organization called p:ear. I don’t have bio-children of my own and I grew up in a home that was riven with grief and isolating despair. I’ve worked with young folks as if my life depended on it—in part because their lives often do. I've forged bonds through talk, through art, through simply being. My social work is all about relationships and, I've learned along the way, so is my art. And so, you see, my work—whether social or art—is all about diverse people, complex relationships, individual journeys, rich connections, human expression. Turns out, all my work is social.
